Question: Best netbook for college student?
(Posted by: Nick B on 2010-02-18 19:27:02)
I am a college student. I need a computer for internet and some word processing. I would like something that will fit easily in my bag and on a desk, so I have been looking into netbooks. The Asus 1005PE is leading right now, although I'm not really a fan of the touchpad. Does anyone have any first hand experience? What do you have, why did you choose that one? I'm just trying to get some more opinions on this. I will probably purchase something around April 2010, and hopefully by then the Duo- Cores and 1366x768 Resolutions will be more standard. **I have done quite a bit of research and hands on shopping around. Windows 7 can easily be installed, and run very well, on almost any netbook once you switch out the RAM for a 2GB. There have been some rumors about Duo- Cores in April for Asus, and there are a few $400 range netbooks that currently have a 1366x768 screen. Not to be a jerk, but I wan't just making things up from wishful thinking. Please only respond to this post if you have real information regarding the subject. |

Most will handle a usb mouse. look for that. also full system only full systems for netbooks are xp and linux. windows 7 is a starter system. don't come with cd drives, but the do make a usb cd reader. dual core or quad core is fast, asus makes a good mother board not sure about computers. my second choice would be a sony. look for long life battery. check some reviews online. |

Would not look for Net Books to come with Duo Core Processors or full featured operating system and high resolution as this defeats the Net Books purpose of being small, light, inexpensive and very portable. You really should consider a small but full featured Note Book with a CD/ DVD drive built in. But if it is a Net Book you want look at the Toshiba Net Book, Note Book, Lap tops. toshibadirect.com/ td/ b2c/ home.to |

Well, here is a good netbook: TOSHIBA Satellite T115D-S1125 Nova Black AMD Athlon Neo X2 L325(1.50GHz) 11.6 " 2GB Memory 320GB HDD NoteBook - Retail Free Belkin travel USB hub w/ netbook purchase, ends 2/ 28 $499.99 (It has a Dual core processor and 1366x768 resolutions. The Ati radeon HD 3200 is a pretty good integrated graphics, thus allowing it to run windows 7 home premium (most netbooks use starter edition)) |
