Question: I'm purchasing an asus netbook. do i go with the 512 mb or 1g of ram?

I already have a PC that I keep at home and I use that for all my heavier programs (Photoshop, ArcMap, etc.). I'm only looking to use the netbook for typing up notes in class, using the internet to check e- mail and to stream applications from my university's website, maybe watch some YouTube videos between classes, and type up documents/ spreadsheets. I'm not hardware savvy so I could use some advice as to what level of RAM would be adequate for these needs. Thanks!

Go 1G, it will make your computer faster then if u only have 512MB

Netbooks are generally not very powerful. They have slow processors, so you may want to max out your RAM to try to make up for that. Get 1GB of RAM, 2 if you can. I believe you can upgrade the RAM on an Asus EE PC yourself without much difficulty; there are various tutorials on Youtube.
